Why do witches have warts?

Halloween. It’s a day, that is sweet and spooky at the same time. Sweet because children go and search for candies, and spooky because there are ghosts, spiders, black cats and bats all around. And, of course, WITCHES. Today we will tell you something about witches and also teach you how to draw them.

Who doesn’t know them? They are women with big, black hats and a warty nose. Their name comes from the name of a nature religion that men and women in the British Isles practiced about 1300 years ago and was called Wicca. Wicca means “wise ones” and the female Wiccan was known as a witch, while the male Wiccan as a wizard. (Source >>)

Today, witchcraft is generally considered as a practice or belief in magical skills and abilities, but the connotation of the word varies across different regions of the globe. For example, in the Philippines, witchcraft is often classified as malevolent. In Southern African traditions, however, there are three classifications of somebody who uses magic: the thakathi is a spiteful person who operates in secret to harm others; the sangoma is someone employed in detecting illness, predicting a person’s future or identifying the culprits in a crime; while the inyanga, whose name is often translated as “witch doctor”, is someone whose job is to heal illness and injury and provide his customers with magical items for everyday use. Oggy and the Cockroaches

We are all sure that you know main characters of this popular cartoon. But we want to present you some facts abouth them that we bet you didn’t know at all!

Oggy spends his life chasing and catching the cockroaches and has a special relationship with them-sometimes he’s loving them and sometimes he’s hating them. Did you know that he’s a murophobic? This means that he’s scared of mice- and he’s a cat! 🙂 And that he’s named after Iggy Pop? He appeares in every single episode- the only one of the cockroaches. How about drawing the main character? Jack, Oggy’s older cousin is the second main character of the series. His color is olive green and he has red nose and pointed ears on a big head. That means he’s 24 years old today! He is occasionally a “semi-antagonist” when he and Oggy get stuck somewhere and try to find a way to escape, like we see in many episodes. Marky is also one of the vilians, along with his friends Joey and Dee Dee. Marky’s grey body is 11cm. He’s the second in comand, after Joey. His personality is suave, often he’s not really caring what other two roaches are doing. Meet Baby Wolf Teddy.

On a beautiful sunny day, Teddy played in the forest, when saw a fly. Of course, Teddywanted to catch the fly so he can show it to his parents. But his plan gone wrong and he accidentaly got lost and didn’t know how to get back to his home. When his parents saw he’s gone, they started searching for him immediately.

 

Wolf Teddy was really scared alone in the woods. He was howling really loud so his parents could hear him. He spent the night alone, laying on the wet moss, all alone. Next morning he woke up, hearing something in the distance. Happily he recognized his mother’s voice. He rain in the direction of voices and firstly saw his mother running towards him. Seconds later he also recognized is fater. Now, the whole family is together again and happy as never.

Monsters and Mythological Creatures

Mermaids are legendary creatures with an upper body as a human and lower as fish. The word mermaid is a compound of the Old English mere (sea), and maid (a girl or young woman). The first known mermaid story appeared in Assyria 1000 B.C. Atargatis, mother of Assyrian queen who loved a shepherd has killed him unintentionally. Ashamed, she jumped into water and took the form of a fish. The waters would not conceal her divine beauty, so she took the form of a mermaid. Mermaid shows up also in Thousand and One Nights in several tales: “Abdullah the Fisherman and Abdullah the Merman”, “The Adventures of Bulukiya” and many more. In 1493, Columbus reported seeing three female forms, rose high out the sea. Also in 2009, many people reported seeing a mermaid that was jumping out the water and doing tricks. Frankenstein monster as opposed to Mermaids, appeared later. It all began with Marry Shelley’s novel in 1818 by name Frankenstein. In the novel, Victor Frankenstein builds this 8 ft tall ugly creature in his laboratory. Although, Marry never names the creature in the novel, popular culture named it after its creator Frankenstein. Later, we get the most well-known image of Frankenstein’s monster from Boris Karloff’s portrayal in the 1931 movie Frankenstein.  Zombies are another kind of creatures, that appeared in 20th century. They are undead, mindless, reanimated human corpses who are hungry for human flesh. The stories about zombies often involve magic or in modern world, virus. They can be found in horror stories and fantasy movies and other works. The word ‘zombie’ appeared in 1819 in a history of Brazil by Robert Southey in the form of ‘zombi’.  Zombies inspired many movie makers, and also artists. Artist Jillian McDonald has made several works of video art involving zombies, and exhibited them in her show in 2006. How to draw a Zombie is something that you definitely must know!

 

Existance of Aliens? Yes or no?

Aliens are creatures that have always steered our imagination. You must have thought about aliens at least once in your life, right? The question is always the same: Do they really exist or not?

Millions are spent every year in order to investigate and research this subject. Scientists are sending signals and messages in space, hoping that someday they might hear an answer from alien or creature alike.

One of the ideas is that ancient aliens visited Earth and influenced the human and primate population by genetic engineering and cross breeding, thus, exposing us to development, technology and religion. If this was true or not, its staying a mystery. Some are even convinced that all the technological advancements achieved by us in years and years of research are because of the aliens’ knowledge and equipments, because they have taken an uncanny interest in our evolution, especially with the advent of nuclear technology.

How do we picture aliens?

When we think about aliens, we often think about green or grey skinned large headed creature with enormous eyes and sometimes four limbs.

Many times complex features are also used to characterize them. But why do we started to imagine aliens like this? Well, I think because of the many many aliens related movies. In every movie, they look pretty much the same.

 Drawing aliens by your imagination can be real fun, especially if you have lots and lots of it. Those of you who are less creative, well we have a solution for you too. Kids and Video Games

Video games are becoming more and more popular in today’s world. When kids(or adults) are playing video game, they get so excited that they think the video game is actually a real world, while they’re playing. Modern parents often think that if their child is playing video game, that can not by any chance become harmful and dangerous for them. But I think that picture is a bit different.

Nothing is wrong if a kid  has his favorite game and plays it now and than. As long as it doesn’t become a meaning of their life. Kids can often forget about everything else, while they’re playing a video game. They can often also become disobedient. Parents simply must know where the boundaries are.  And if they know it and show it to their kids, playing video games should not be harmful at all.

History of Video Games

Lets talk a bit about history of video games. First video game was created in early 1950s, when academics designed simple games and simulations as part of their computer science research. Claude Shannon has presented the basic guidelines for programming a chess-playing computer game. We got the first war video game in 1955, when the U.S. military designed Hutspiel, in which red and blue players waged war. The turning point happened in 1964, when Dartmouth’s John Kemeny created the computer time-share system and BASIC programming language. Both make it easy for students to write computer games, that’s why soon countless video games have been created. Video gaming has became popular in the 1970s and 1980s, when programers and developers introduced arcade video games, game consoles and home computer games to general public. Today, there are eight generations of video game consoles.

Nintendo

Nintendo is the world’s largest video game company by revenue, headquartered in Japan. Nintendo developed their first video game in 1970s and this has brought them market value of over $85 billion. The word “Nintendo” can be roughly translated as “leave luck to heaven.” Their major success was a character Super Mario Bros in 1985. It was originally released in Japan for the on September 13, 1985, and later that year for the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America, Europe got their Super Mario on May 15, 1987 and also Australia in 1987. In Super Mario Bros. game, the player controls Mario and in a two-player game, a second player controls Mario’s brother and allie Luigi as they travel through the Mushroom Kingdom in order to rescue Princess Toadstool from the antagonist Bowser.

Giant Shrek, giant facts

Today’s blog post is inspired by a movie, which was written by a man at the age of 83. This man was William Steig, cartoonist for The New Yorker and a children’s writer. Many people believe, that the book is almost always better than the movie, because we can create our own image of protagonists in our head.

 

Shrek is a large, green, physically intimidating ogre who has a Scottish accent. It is revealed that on his seventh birthday, Shrek was sent away by his parents because this was an ogre tradition. He than travels alone, either being screamed at or teased by passers-by. The only time he receives a pleasant greeting is a wave from a young Fiona, who is promptly led away by her parents.

It has been presented in Sichuan province at Chengdu Auto show on 29th August, 2014. Its starting price is about $150,000. It has 707 hp and

an automatic transaxle having dual-clutch.

5. McLaren P14

This car was displayed in the first press day before the 85thn International Motor show held in Geneva on March 3, 2015. Its price is still not revealed.

4. Bentley Bentayga

Its price starts from $200,000. It is expected to be launched on first half of 2016. It has a W-12 that is followed by a diesel and a plug-in hybrid.

3. Ferrari 488 GTB

It is on display in the Auto Shanghai 2015. Its price is not yet revealed. It is expected to be launched in the early 2016. It has 661 hp and it is expected to give output at 8000 revolution per minute.

It is on display in the First Consumer Electronics Show Asia held in Shanghai. Its price is expected to be $400,000. It has 65- hp. Its launch date is expected to be in June 2016.
